Why is it the majority of children’s sun suits on the market have short sleeves and short legs? They may have an spf of 50 but they can only protect the area under the sun suit. What about their lower arms and legs?

Experts bang on about how essential it is to protect babies’ and children’s skin, and of course it is. But it’s impossible to keep them in the shade all the time, as parents will know. So although sunsuits are a fabulous idea, wouldn’t it be good if they protected as much of their skin as possible?

We are about to go on holiday. My daughter has very fair skin so I’ve researched long and hard into long sleeved sunsuits and have found out they are few and far between in the UK (yet if you look at Australian sites they are much more readily available).

I know the English summer may not necessitate the wearing of such sunsuits, however most families do go abroad in the search of hotter climes!

Although not as pretty as the usual ones you can buy, here are the ones I have found that cover arms and legs:

Sun Essentials UV Popper long sleeve sunsuit £27.97 from Baby World (available in Pink and Blue)

I have also seen the famous brand Konfidence have addressed the issue with the creation of a long sleeve suit. £21.99

To the manufacturers and suppliers of Sunsuits – come on guys you’re missing a trick!
