Bowled over (on the most part) by generosity for charity event in Parson's Green

by 21stcenturymummy on November 4, 2009

With 8 days to go until the charity event in Parson’s Green in aid of The Chase Hospice, it’s full steam ahead! We rely principally on the support of the local community to provide the food and drink for the event, so 100% of the money raised can be given to the charity.

I have been bowled over by the generosity of some of the independent grocers, delis, restaurants and individuals in the local community etc. who have given wine, canapes, raffle and auction prizes. It’s amazing how they have been willing to support the event, despite the tough times we are in. I’m not sure I should mention their names, because people might start hounding them!

Some, however, haven’t been at all forthcoming, suprisingly mainly the big names, the multiples for example. I appreciate they get requests for help for events but…it would have been easier to get blood from a stone!

We’re nearly there now, all we need now is ice and soft drinks.
