A New Kind of Support in Pregnancy

by 21stcenturymummy on June 21, 2010

Neither had I until about a year ago.

I heard a radio presenter talking a new product for ‘women with bigger breasts‘ to stop ‘crepe-ing‘ (creases between your boobs/chest) and that is ideal during pregnancy. (I remembered years ago, my Father saying my Step-mother got hers from too much sun). I think I went from a 34D to 36F when I was pregnant and actually wore a bra in bed or pillow between my boobs, because it was more comfortable and to try to stop the onslaught of yet more wrinkles.

I didn’t get the name of the product and despite doing an in-depth search on the internet, couldn’t find anything. I forgot about it until the product popped up very recently on Twitter.

It’s called a KUSH! So, I contacted the company as I was keen to review one. It arrived in a very nice pink silk pouch (it could almost be mistaken for a very pretty sex toy!). It’s incredibly light and only took a couple of nights to get used to, and stayed put when I was on my side. Whilst I sleep on my front now, pregnant mums usually sleep on their sides so it could be really useful for mums wanting to avoid the crepe-ing effect and it’s meant to help you sleep better too. Sadly for me, I already have a baby and the damage has been done. Although I will definitely use it next time around.

Vanity alway comes with a price – I’m not too sure my husband was that impressed, what with my mouth guard I wear at night as I clench my teeth and now this!

The Kush has come over from the USA. It is for C-cups or bigger and is for all new mums and mums-to-be. Kush was approved for participation in a Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists publication (the “You and Your Pregnancy” Initiative), which is being given out during 2010 to 500,000+ pregnant women via their NHS hospitals etc. Apparently Kush is not just for pregnant/breastfeeding women, but for any woman who sleeps on their side and has a C cup or larger bust, (natural or implants!).

More info: Kush breast supports are available in three sizes and various colours, are anatomically contoured and made of a very lightweight plastic with a slip-resistant surface. The Kush is placed between the breasts which then ‘envelope’ the Kush as the body warms up so that the Kush tends to stay in place through most normal movement during sleep, and the user does not have to wear a bra.

What do  you think? Would you use one?
