Snoozaboo Good Night Sleep Tight sleeping bag – SGD $48.72

Coming from England where they say a baby’s room temperature should be between 16-19°C, I found the high temperature here in Singapore extremely disconcerting when Baby C was born. I am not a fan of aircon because when we leave it on at night, everyone seems to end up with colds, and we also end up with an extortionate electricity bill. My paediatrician said a room temperature of 25-27°C is fine, but it took me a while to be convinced Baby C wouldn’t overheat in her room where the temperature hovers around 27°C.

Trying to find 0.5 tog lightweight sleeping bags suitable for tropical climates proved to be a bit of mission, which suprised me. Don’t people use sleeping bags in hot countries?

I came across these ones from Snoozaboo in Malaysia. With cute designs, only 0.5 tog, 100% combed soft cotton fabric and costing SGD$49.72 (0-6 months), they are perfect. Baby C sleeps in a vest and lightweight sleeping bag, with a fan on in her room.

You can see the rest of their collection here (sizes up to 18  months and 1 tog options too).

If you do live in a hot climate and are worried about your baby overheating, here are some tips to keep your baby cool in hot weather from Babycenter.com.

Hi, just to let u know there are romper style sleeping bags for baby that do not keep baby’s legs confined too, thus they might be cooler as compared to traditional sleeping bags. Feel free to take a look at http://www.rompersleepingbag.com! :)

These sound great. Although wont they get cold arms and legs if the temperature cools at all during the night?
