As a self-confessed makeup junkie this week’s Listography at Katetakes5 is right up my street. Beauty products are my downfall and something I’d rather spend money over clothes. I have the most sensitive skin on the planet which tends to react to everything by breaking out. So, I have tried, tested and spent I dread to think how much on the latest products, most of which have ended up languishing at the back of the cupboard under the sink. A while ago I did my top 8 makeup and skincare products for yummy mummies
Here are my latest top 5 beauty products:
(They’re all great for sensitive, spot prone skin too)
1) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser (in Bisque)
I’m a big fan of Laura Mercier. I now use the oil-free tinted moisturiser because of the humidity in Singapore. It’s great for sensitive or spot-prone skin – unfortunately like mine.
2) Laura Mercier Primer
This helps stop making sliding off, which considering it’s so humid here, is key. Again since moving to Singapore, I use the oil-free version.
3) Mac Select Moisture Cover Concealer (in NC20)

This is the best concealer I have ever come across. It’s great for both blemishes and dark circles under the eyes (after a heavy night – I wish! It’s actually more likely to be to one or other child keeping me up at night)
4) Neals Yard Rehydrating Rose Toner

This is fab toner great for sensitive skin.
5) Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover

I can’t use many Clarins products as I tend to react with them, but I do like this eye makeup remover, it takes off heavy eye makeup easily.

I tend to find Clarins a bit too harsh for my skin too. I didn’t dare try the makeup remover in case I had another reaction so glad it sounds like it’s working for you!
I can’t use anything like Clarins, Clinique etc. It’s a shame!
Always wanted to try Laura Mercier – may have to give that primer a go!
It really is fab!
I do need a new concealer to cover up those child-related purple circles round my eyes and since dd1 (19) swears by Mac, I will definitely check that one out x
Have always wanted to try Laura Mercier! I LOVE Neal’s Yard products. It features on my list too. Know what you mean about the humidity in Singapore, I grew up as an expat in Dubai – equally humid and probably why I never wore make up before! Great list, thanks for sharing x
Thanks for your comment. Frizzy hair is also a big problem I have over here. I’ll check your list out now.
I am going to try that Laura mercier stuff, love Neal’s yard stuff. I recommend Baby Oil for removing eye make up – forgot to mention that on mine!
Definitely recommend Laura Mercier, would buy their whole range if money was no object.
I love Neal’s Yard so will definitely try that toner
I have the Laura Mercier primer (it came in a set) but haven’t tried it yet – will give it a go
Thanks for commenting. The toner is fab!
For SG weather, I use a lot of Eucerin Dermopurifyer Lotion (oil free moisturiser), Avene Redseal and Makeup Forever Al mat primer if I am wearing foundation. Laura Mercier is primer is a good product.
Thanks for the great tips.
