Today is Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, which marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. It’s a public holiday in Singapore (hurray!).
Despite not being religious, one of the things I love about Singapore is they acknowledge many of the different religious festivals, and Miss C gets to learn all about them at school. She came back on Monday singing songs all about Deepavali and had made a special candle.
She was also desperate to go to Little India as one of her teachers told her she could get henna tattoos on her hands. So we headed up there for lunch today and found a little beauty parlour.
It cost $6 and here’s the result.
Luckily it comes off in a few days.
