There’s snow in Singapore, well, foam actually. This nightly event outside Tanglin Mall turns into a foam party from 7.30pm every night until 2 Jan. The children love it, many come in their swimmers and Dads get totally soaked.

Christmas in the tropics

If it’s one thing I’ve learnt in the past year, Singaporeans know how to celebrate. Whether it’s for Chinese New Year, Deepawali, National Day or any other of the numerous festivals and religious holidays. Christmas is no exception.

For some of the best dazzling decorations, you can’t beat Orchard Road. Giant Christmas trees, snow globes, reindeer and “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas’ blaring through store speakers. It puts the Christmas decorations on Oxford Street in London to shame.

It’s all a bit strange when it’s 30 degrees outside.
