New Year’s Resolutions: Past and Present

by admin on December 2, 2010

My 2 biggest goals for 2010 were to get pregnant (and make it stick) and to move abroad – I’m very happy to say, both are happening.

Before making some New Year’s Resolutions for 2011, I thought I’d look back at the New Year’s Resolutions I made for last year, to see how I did. I always think it’s a good idea to make them public, because it makes me feel like I will do a better job at keeping them!

  • Drink only when out –  I actually did pretty well on the drinking front. Although I did drink at home a bit, I cut down a lot. The main reason for doing this was that we were trying for a baby, now I’m pregnant so no drinking at all for a while :(
  • Do some writing – This is one thing I absolutely love doing. I’ve written features for a few titles and look forward to doing more in 2011.
  • Do some more exercise – Hmmm!
  • Be more patient with my daughter – I like to think I’ve become more patient
  • Be less critical of myself, my husband and my daughter – Could have done better!
  • Slow down – Keep on trying!
  • More me time – This is the one resolution I did stick to, with spa weekends, massages and girls nights out and plan to continue it in 2011.

And for this year…

I can’t give up alcohol, as I’m pregnant and not drinking so…

  • Don’t Worry, Be Happy – I am the world’s biggest worrier and it can’t be good for my health!
  • Exercise more – As soon as I get to Singapore, I’m getting a personal trainer.
  • Get published – Spend more time pitching and writing articles for publications
  • Keep in touch with my friends – Given our move to Singapore, I am determined to keep in regular touch with friends. I know how easy it can be get to sucked into a new life and forget old friends.

New Year, New Resolutions

January 2, 2010

2009 has been and gone, and it’s once again time to set a few, hopefully manageable, New Year’s Resolutions (start as you mean to go on, and all that jazz). I do think it’s important to set goals, it can give you a sense of achievement when you reach them, or help you work out […]
